A policeman in/around the high court warned me that the allocated time for this trial would be far exceeded ... No surprise perhaps but the costs are rising exponentially
1. Criminal cases aren't allocated court time,they take as long as they take. This case may have run for longer than expected, but that is not the same time.
2. The fact the case may have taken longer than was estimated means the costs will be greater, but the increase will be linear, not exponential.
